The NWMO Roadway Safety Program is hosting TWO First Impact presentations in May.
Our first presentation will be in Albany on Monday, May 11 at 6:30pm at the Hundley-Whalen Extension & Education Center located at 1109 S. Birch St., Albany, MO. Our second presentation will be in Maryville on Tuesday, May 12 at 6:30pm at the Maryville Public Safety Building located at 101 N. Vine St., Maryville, MO. You DO NOT have to live in the city where the presentation is held to attend.
First Impact is a statewide, free, 90-minute, evidence-based, traffic safety program for parents/guardians and teens developed by ThinkFirst Missouri in partnership with the Missouri Department of Transportation, Traffic & Highway Safety Division. The presentation educates parents/guardians and teens about Missouri’s Graduated Driver License (GDL) law and provides parents/guardians with the tools they need to monitor, coach, and support their soon-to-be or new teen driver.
First Impact uses video and discussion to promote the importance of parents/guardians and teens working together to reduce teen roadway crashes, injuries, and fatalities on Missouri roadways. The program is delivered by trained facilitators who coach parents/guardians by presenting key facts and proven strategies to help parents/guardians lower their teen’s crash risk by utilizing the Missouri GDL law.
Below are flyers that provide you with the registration link for the presentations.
If you have any questions, please contact Christy Pearce at christy@nwmorcog.org or (660) 582-5121, ext. 6
