While we all wish that things could be different, that we could see one another, learn together in person, and generally be together again, focusing on those things we can control is most beneficial. No one from our district created this exercise, but you are all welcome to use it.

Hey there Elementary! I thought it might be fun to watch this four-part video set about George Seurat. (don't worry, they are short videos) After you learn about Seurat and Pointillism, maybe you can try a "Seurat" at home using whatever you have available, whatever can make dots of color.

Students K-8, this is just a reminder that Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Snead are continuing to host Happiness Hours every Monday! This is a great time to connect with your classmates, ask questions, etc...! Hope you can make it!
We continue to honor our 2020 graduates at 20:20 for 20 minutes here at Ford Field in Burlington Junction.
Spring pictures: Spring pictures will be made available asap. We will let you know when they have been delivered to the school. We will schedule a pick up day or mail them home if necessary.
End of school updates: The last day of school for West Nodaway R-I will be May 20th, 2020. Student check out days will be May 19th and 20th. We will publish a schedule for drop off books, computers, etc. Students will also have access to lost and found items at that time.
Here's a little activity for anyone interested! Take a piece of paper. Write "I can't imagine life without..." in the center and draw a bubble around it. Make rays coming out from the center and fill each section. We'd love to see what you include! Post on Facebook or email Mrs. Bell!
If you or anyone in your family is having a hard time during this crisis, The National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children has some amazing resources for talking about it. Here is a great one called The Animals Inside Me: Meerkat, Tiger, and Owl. Even adults can benefit from thinking about this analogy. Sometimes, the meerkat within us sounds the alarm when we're not in any urgent danger and we need to work to calm ourselves. We miss all our students and our school family!
