Good luck to our HS baseball team this evening!

Congratulations to Payden Calfee! He has earned enough AR points to be Principal of the Day! Keep up the great work Payden!

PTO hosted Breakfast Buddies this morning. Thank you to everyone who joined us for donuts. A big thank you to PTO for hosting.

Good luck to our high school track team this afternoon! Go Thunder!

As a way to get our brains thinking and energized for MAP testing, upper elementary students worked on a critical thinking activity in counseling classes this past month. They had to take all their prior knowledge and apply it to something new...just like a test question! The students did a great job collaborating, brainstorming, and analyzing each week. While some students were disappointed the tomatoes didn't explode, they were all amazed at the transformation. The average Roma tomato weighed 84 grams and by the end of our activity the average was 10.4 grams. It was a great few weeks watching the "gears turn" as these students figured out what was taking place!

We had our first Principal of the Day for the year! Rhett Cowden met his reading goal of 105 points. Congratulations, Rhett!

Baseball date change!

Don't forget! 🍩

Congratulations to Sydney Marriott for receiving a Student Council summer camp scholarship. Sydney will have her camp registration paid for by the Missouri Association of Student Council Alumni Foundation. She was nominated to receive this award for her continued leadership throughout the school year! Great job, Sydney! We are so proud of you!

These 6 students recently attended the Missouri Student Council State Convention. This was the first time West Nodaway has attended. They learned about leadership and were given many ideas to implement at our school. We are so excited to keep improving our council within our school and share our ideas with the student body!

Congratulations to Kayden Conn and Emalee Wynn for winning scholarships to attend Student Council summer camp. Kayden will have his registration fully paid and Emalee will have hers partially paid. Kayden and Emalee worked hard to apply for these scholarship through the Northwest Student Council District. Great work, Kayden and Emalee!

West Nodaway Elementary will be offering Really Great Reading summer school program. This program uses the same RGR program that we use during the school year. This is a great program for those students who struggle with reading or for those parents who would like to ensure their student maintains or grows during the summer. The program will be offered May 30th-June 29th Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings 9:30-11:30am. Please contact Mr. Conn if you are interested and would like more details. tconn@wnrockets.com

Thank you PTO for providing popsicles for our MAP kick-off day!

We had a motivation Monday to get ready for MAP testing this week, with kickball and popsicles. The 5th graders would like to thank Mrs. Goodyear's 2nd grade class for coming in to wish us good luck!

2nd grade wants to wish 5th grade good luck on the MAP test. In their words "Beat that test and show it who is boss!"
